Fasanella, Luis

Mr. Fasanella is an Electronics Engineer graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA), Renewables PDD from IAE Business School. He started his career as a teacher and researcher in Mechatronics at ITBA until 2009.

With over 15 years of experience in Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, and Energy Transition, Mr. Fasanella has held various roles within the holding company Corporación América. He has been responsible for the development, construction, and operation of wind farms, served as a business developer, general manager of an oil services company, and held managerial positions in Planning and Control, Reporting, Transitions, and Renewable Energy at Compañía General de Combustibles S.A.

An Electrical Engineer graduated from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (1983) with a Postgraduate Degree in Energy from Boston, USA (1998). He has over 40 years of professional experience in the Energy, Engineering, Construction, and Nuclear sectors.

Throughout his career, he has held executive positions and led multidisciplinary teams in project and business development, encompassing technical, commercial, operation & maintenance, and regulatory aspects. He served as the National Director of Hydroelectric Generation for the Secretary of Energy under the Ministry of Economy. In this role, he was responsible for policy, regulation, plans, and sectoral policies. Additionally, in his capacity as Coordinator, he led the team by overseeing Aprovechamientos Hidroeléctricos Concesionados (ETAHC) (Utilization of Hydroelectric Concessions). This involved assessing the technical, economic, legal, and environmental status of national jurisdiction hydroelectric concessions upon the expiration of concession contracts.
